Why we exist

A Home for Every Zair

Since the 1940s, the Hussainiya has held one clear responsibility: to offer free, dignified accommodation for the Zaireen of Imam Hussain (A.S.) in Karbala.

The service is sustained on a no-profit, no-loss basis. A Zair can arrive close to the Holy Shrine, find rest and community, and keep the heart focused on Ziyarat.

Through loss, renewal and the collective effort of the community, that purpose has endured. The new sanctuary expands the capacity to serve without changing the humility of the welcome.

Four principles · One sacred responsibility

The values carried into every act of service.

  1. Faith

Every act begins with devotion to Allah and love for Imam Hussain (A.S.).

  2. Sacrifice

Built through the quiet generosity of those who give for a purpose beyond themselves.

  3. Hospitality

A warm welcome, a place of rest and the honour of serving every Zair.

  4. Dignity

Care that respects every person and protects the sacred focus of Ziyarat.

Every place of rest becomes part of a continuing reward.

Sadaqah-e-Jariyah

A charity that continues each time a Zair finds rest.

A square metre, a room or any contribution can be dedicated in the name of a loved one, living or departed. The renewed building becomes a quiet source of comfort, worship and care for generations.
