Six chapters · One enduring purpose

Walls changed. The promise to serve remained.

  1. The beginning

    A sacred trust begins

Established by Syed Haider Shah Bukhari to host Zaireen of Imam Hussain (A.S.) and commemorate Majalis.

  2. Interruption

    Service is halted

The Hussainiya was sealed under the Saddam regime, beginning a difficult chapter in its history.

  3. Loss

    Demolished, but not forgotten

  4. Renewal

    Rebuilt by the community

Collective effort restored the Hussainiya and renewed its role as a place of welcome and remembrance.

  5. Sacred precinct

Part of a greater sacred precinct

Acquired by Ataba Hussainiya and included in the Sehn of Aqeela Zainab (A.S.).

  6. The next chapter

What rises now will welcome generations we may never meet.

The new sanctuary is more than a building. It continues a responsibility first carried more than eighty years ago—now entrusted to the community once again.
